Experimental of natural ventilation in a semi-transparent photovoltaic double skin façade in summer

Semi-transparent photovoltaic double skin façade (STPV-DSF) is a novel structure which integrates photoelectric, photothermal, ventilation and energy-saving features, proves to be extremely attractive promising. In this study, full-scale experimental system was built, airflow heat transfer in rectangular cavity with different transmittance (τ) modes summer that studies STPV-DSF includes natural were examined experimentally. The Rayleigh number Nusselt of significantly higher than traditional DSF. This also means stronger intense flow. And the maximum temperature difference at night between mode 1 2 can reach 7.3°C. When external air circulation switched internal mode, indoor drops by 2.88°C ten minutes. Therefore, making fully use effectively reduce cooling load conditioning summer. solar radiation intensity proved have greatest influence on temperature, followed transmittance, least influence. Applying naturally ventilated would new efficient way for curtain wall buildings meet task sustainable building design.
